- SSLC/ITI and All India National Trade Test (National Apprenticeship Certificate) in the trade of Instrument Mechanic/Fitter/Electrician/Electronic Mechanic/Painter/Shipwright Wood (Carpenter) /Mechanic (Diesel) or Fitter (S.No.6,7,8,9,10,11,12,1314,,).
- VIIth Class pass and Serang Certificate issued by the Mercantile Marine Department (S.No.15).
- SSLC pass and Training in Fire Fighting from a State Fire Force or Public Sector (S.No.16).
- IVth Class pass and Five years experience in Rigging of heavy-duty machine (S.No.17).
- VIIth Class pass and Certified Course in Food
Production/ Food and Beverages Service from Government Food Craft Institute or Vocational Certificate in Catering and Restaurant Management from an institution recognized by Central/State Government (S.No.18 posts).

Shortlisted candidates selection process based on two types.
1.Written Test and Interview for S.No.19,20 posts.
2.Practical Test,Physical test/Objective type written Test and Interview for S.No1-18 posts.
