Education Qualifications :
Group-C – 12th Standard Examination pass not less than 50% marks in the aggregate from recognized Board (Just pass marks required for SC/ST/Ex-servicemen)
Erstwhile Group-D – 10th Standard Pass (OR) ITI in trade approved by the NCVT.
SCout & Guide Qualifications :
- A President Scout/Guide/Rover/Ranger OR Himalayan Wood Badge (HWB) holders are eligible.
- Should have been five years work an active member of Scouts Organization and attended two events at National Level or All Indian Railways level and Two events at State level.

Pay Allowance :
Appointed Group-c holders monthly pay band Rs.5200-20200/- with Grade pay Rs.1900/- & Rs.1800/- gade pay for Group-D post holders.
Examination fee Details :
The Non-refundable examination fee Rs.100/- payable by Internet Banking or Debit/Credit cards. The SC/ST, Women, Minorities, EBC categories are exempted from examination fee.
Selection Process :
1. Written Test-
- Objective Questions-40 marks & Essay Type Question-10 marks
2.Scouting Skill Assessment -Skill Assessment Committee will assess the practical ability of the candidates-10 marks
3.Certificate marks -
- Participation/Service rendered in National Events/National Jamboree – 10 marks
- Participation/Service rendered in State Events/Rallies-10 marks
- Specialized Scout/Guides course organised at National/State/All Indian Railways level-10 marks
- Participation in District Rallies-10 marks
